From Eccles with love

The Eccles Cake is a traditional product, which is believed to have originated in the town of Eccles, approximately five miles from our bakery.

The Edmonds family recipe and method of manufacture has been handed down through generations.

Although we have modernised some of our manufacturing process to meet health and safety and food hygiene regulations, our Eccles Cakes are still carefully handmade with a mixture of the finest Vostizza currants, raisins, butter and sugar enclosed in a shell of flaky buttery pastry.

Still a family
business.

Lancashire Eccles Cakes is still owned and run by the Edmonds family. As Production Director, Ian Edmonds looks after our bakery, where every Eccles cake is still folded and finished by hand to the family recipe.

“We get many emails each year from expats who have emigrated as far afield as New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA.”
